just found out that proper broadband speeds will finaly come to mobile 3g when all the systems are upgraded. will need a new modem for it to work and a new contract by then. still will get same speed as a standard homeline adsl (upto 8 meg download* , and 2meg upload*).

*likely a lot lower than claimed.

technology seems to take 2 years to catch up with consumer demand. maybe thats a new rule of law?

so think of how acceptably fast you would like to have your computer now, pluck a estimate from the air. in 2 years thats what you will be available to buy, if you have the asking price in cash that is.

ok will try it for cars.
i hope to expect that new cars will be capable of say 0-60mph in 7.x seconds with combined 50mpg in 2 years time, will see if that comes true.
