When Drupal 6 is installed the database size is 0.90MB, with 47 tables.

When Drupal 7 is installed the database size is 4.42MB, with 74 tables.

I understand there are several modules that have been integrated into Drupal 7 that could account for some of the extra bulk, but the database is nearly 5 times the size of Drupal 6's database. The question that remains unanswered is if Drupal 7's database will grow proportionally in size over time and if that will have an effect on performance.

With the Dev module, it seemed that overall the Drupal 6 pages loaded faster.

Is it really worth the trouble of migrating to Drupal 7?
